dRsolutionsnet is focused on providing outstanding web applications, programming, and training in Java and PHP technologies. We design websites and applications that look great, and are easy to use and maintain. We provide a variety of additional services including Graphic Design Services. If needed, we can write and edit text.
Dave Russell is president of dRsolutionsnet, which provides web development applications, programming, and training in Java and PHP technologies. He had a distinguished career in high technology as an executive with Nortel Networks for over 20 years. At Nortel, Dave gained broad experience and insight into hardware and software development. He served as project manager for one of Nortel's digital switch introductions, as General Manager of the US Terminals Division, and as a senior operations and later marketing/strategy executive. Dave brings this experience to support customers, who must adapt to a dramatically changed economy. For the past five years Dave has focused on software programming and development. He holds a BASc. in Mechanical Engineering and is a Sun Certified Programmer.
Stephen Russell holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphics Design from the University of Tennessee. As well as Graphics Design, Steve has expertise in both Flash and Photoshop. Among other designs, Steve designed the logo for dRsolutionsnet.
Jeff Russell holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Middle Tennessee State University. He has published numerous articles, songs, and poetry. Currently, Jeff is studying for a Masters degree in English. Jeff has the ability to express himself with clarity and will convey your message correctly.

- The site that will keep you up to date with what is going on in Java is the Cafe Au Lait Web site by Elliotte Rusty Harold. See Cafe Au Lait. Also, he has a site for XML called appropriately Cafe Con Leche. Elliotte Rusty Harold is the author of numerous books listed at his site. Two of note are "Java Network Programming" and "XML In A Nutshell" by Elliotte Rusty Harold & W. Scott Means. The Java Network Programming book assumes you are comfortable with Java. You can get links to these books through his website.
- Dr. Heinz Max Kabutz publishes an Advanced Java newsletter. This is an excellent newsletter that probes and challenges you. Again, it assumes you are very comfortable with Java programming. You can view Dr. Kabutz's site and subscribe to his newsletter at: Java Specialists.
- Linux Resources: This is the home site for Linux. However, there are many flavors of Linux. This site links with quite a few of them.
- The Apache Software Foundation has a lot of excellent applications pertinent to Java and Java Networking. The home page is at Apache Software Foundation. From there, you can access any projects of interest.
- The PHP home site is a good source for PHP information.
Tools We Use
Where appropriate, we use Open Source tools and applications for our development. Listed below are some of them.
- We use Eclipse an excellent IDE for Java development.
- For a web environment, we use both the Apache HTTP Web Server and Apache Tomcat Servlet Container.
- For Source Control we use CVS, which is a robust version control system.
- We use Ant, the defacto build tool for Java.
- We use two excellent Open Source databases: MySQL
and PostgreSQL.
